Mission


This three-day Basecamp is a no-cost intensive program for emerging Asian American tech talents to leverage their skills for social impact. Our mission is to inspire and empower aspiring Asian American technology leaders to leverage their skills for social impact, promote entrepreneurship and innovation, and cultivate a culture of ethical decision-making and social responsibility with practical solutions.

Kevin Hsu is a triple threat lecturer and researcher at Stanford University, armed with three degrees in Earth Systems, International Relations and Civil & Environmental Engineering, a passion for the social mission of education, and an affinity for the waltz.

He is co-founder of the Human Cities Initiative, a program that promotes a systems approach to the research and practice of sustainable cities, and founder of Skyship Education Design, a studio dedicated to crafting innovative experiences for students by creating open online courses with a social mission. He also serves as an Assistant Director at the Centre for Liveable Cities in Singapore and runs the annual Hong Kong Public Space Bootcamp.

Will Gamez, a UX researcher and workshop facilitator for JP Morgan Chase Commercial Real Estate Digital. He employs design thinking methodologies to his research work and the workshops he designs with the expressed purpose of assisting cross functional stakeholders to build alignment within their teams, arrive at innovative solutions, and establish deeper levels of understanding surrounding problems they wish to solve.  Helping the teams he works with achieve human centric solutions that employ a high degree of empathy for the end user while balancing the needs of all stakeholders involved is what drives his work.
